2012 Downriver Idol
Downriver Idol
Have people told you that you have a great voice? Do you sing in the car, shower, or with the radio? Then you should audition for the Third Annual Downriver Idol!
Participants must sing a song at one of the three preliminary audition sites by singing: a capella, with their own accompanist, or by making arrangements with the SGLS to have an accompanist provided. Contestants can also sing “Karaoke Style” with backing tracks on January 13th in Woodhaven. Those that pass the preliminary round will then sing at the semi-finals on February 3rd.
New this year is a Junior Division, which will allow younger singers to compete with their peers, rather than with more experienced singers. The Junior Division will have its own finals and will name its own 2012 Downriver Idol Winner.
Senior Division contestants will sing for the semi finals on February 3rd. Finalists will sing with the full orchestra at the concert on February 26th at the Flat Rock H.S. Auditorium.
Preliminary Auditions:
Friday, January 13th 7-9pm at Woodhaven Best Western (“Karaoke Style”)
Saturday, January 14th 1-3pm at Southland Mall
Sunday, January 15th 1-3pm at Wyandotte Arts Center
Semi Finals (Both Junior & Senior Divisions)
Friday, February 3rd 7:30pm at Flat Rock H.S. Community Auditorium

Also on the program will be the finalists from the 2012 Downriver Idol competetion.
