The Overture Society

Started as a women's group to provide a welcome snack for the musicians between a rehearsal and the performance, the Overture Society has become a formidable fund raising force for the Southern Great Lakes Symphony. Over the years, this dynamic group has given the Symphony over $140,000. The boutique at every concert, the Annual Fashion Show, and other special events are hallmarks of this group's efforts.

Near and dear to the women of the Overture Society is the annual Scholarship Award Program which provides two $500 and two $300 Scholarships to deserving students. Membership is open to those that share the group's love of music and a strong commitment to provide live orchestral music performances Downriver.
